Morocco: A journey of contrasts, from the Atlas Mountains to the Mediterranean

We’re delighted to present our exclusive 8-day, 7-night itinerary, carefully curated to showcase Morocco’s diversity. On this journey, we’ll travel from south to north, linking the imperial cities with the country’s most striking natural landscapes.

Itinerary:

 •  DAY 1: MENARA AIRPORT - MARRAKECH
Welcome at the airport and transfer to our charming riad. Just a 5-minute walk away is the enigmatic Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, Marrakech’s famous gathering place, with its incomparable atmosphere: snake charmers, dancers, storytellers, fortune-tellers. Take a stroll around the square and enjoy dinner at one of its many stalls serving traditional Moroccan food.
Overnight stay in a riad with breakfast included

•  DAY 2: GUIDED TOUR OF MARRAKECH
After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of Marrakech. We’ll start at the Koutoubia Minaret (13th century), a sister to Seville’s Giralda. Its exquisite harmony makes it the spiritual heart and landmark of Marrakech today. Next, visit the Saadian Tombs (16th century), renowned for their central vault of Carrara marble. Then explore Bahia Palace (16th century), an example of medieval Muslim aristocratic life, especially notable for its Hall of Ambassadors and cedarwood ceiling. We’ll then walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. (The tour begins around 9:00 a.m. and ends at 1:00 p.m.) Free afternoon. Overnight at the riad in Marrakech (breakfast included).

•  DAY 3: MARRAKECH - HIGH ATLAS - OUARZAZATE - DADES GORGES
Depart from Marrakech via the Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass, crossing the Atlas Mountains and stopping to admire the magnificent views along the way, take a break, or snap photos whenever you like. We’ll continue to Ait Ben Haddou, one of the most spectacular fortified villages in southern Morocco, famous as the setting for international films such as Asterix, Gladiator and Sahara. Then we’ll visit Ouarzazate, Morocco’s film capital, before taking the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. From here, we’ll follow a track that gives you the chance to enjoy the peaceful mountain scenery, home to Berber nomads. Overnight in the heart of the Dades Gorges. https://riadgabsidades.com/
